Our Beliefs

At Northdale Baptist Church, we celebrate our diverse community of individuals who may hold differing opinions on various matters. However, we firmly believe that Scripture provides clear guidance on the following essential beliefs:

Welcome to the beliefs page of Northdale Baptist Church, where we outline our core convictions rooted in scripture. While diverse and composed of unique individuals, our community comes together in unity over these foundational truths.

About God

God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe, eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and together form one God.
Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 1:15-17, John 14:9-11, Philippians 2:5-8

About the Bible

The Bible is God’s inspired Word to all people, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It serves as the ultimate source of truth for Christian living. Since God inspires the Bible, it is truth without any mixture of error.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105, Proverbs 30:5, 2 Peter 1:20-21

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is co-equal with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless human life. Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for humanity’s sins by dying on the cross. After three days, He rose from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will one day return to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, John 14:10-30, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:8-11, Hebrews 4:14-15,  1 Corinthians 15:3-7

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son of God. The Holy Spirit is present to convict the world of sin and righteousness, and takes up permanent residence in the hearts of believers from the moment of salvation. He provides wisdom and guidance for godly living.
John 14:16-17; 16:7-13, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13

About Humanity

We believe that all people were created in God’s image for fellowship with Him but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, individuals cannot restore the right relationship with God through their own efforts.
Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:1, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:1-2

About Salvation

We believe that the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross provides the only basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1

About the Church

The Church is the body of Christ, with Jesus Christ as its head. Church members are those who have placed their faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to the lost world.
Matthew 16:15-19, Acts 2:41-42, Ephesians 1:22-23, Acts 20:28, Matthew 28:18-20

About Eternal Life

Eternal life is defined as life without end. Humans were created to exist forever. However, our sin condemns us to live eternally separated from God in Hell, a place of pain and suffering. In His love, God provides us with a choice to spend eternity with Him in Heaven, a place free from suffering and pain, filled with unimaginable joy.
John 3:16, John 3:36, 1 John 2:24-25; 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Revelation 20:15
