The Journey of the Question

Several years ago I met a man who’s first name was Gordon.  After meeting Gordon we visited for awhile and after leaving his office, I remember thinking… ‘That guy asks some really good questions.’

I soon realized that asking good question was an art form and on occasion I visited Gordon for the sole purpose of learning how to ask good questions.

Groundhog Day

During the 132nd celebration of Groundhog Day on Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, PA it was declared that we are going to have 6 more weeks of winter. We were watching the news clip as they held up the poor critter Punxsutawney Phil who has become famous for predicting the weather. According to legend, if the groundhog sees its shadow we will continue to have wintery weather for the next six weeks.

Declutter

Christmas is over and we decided we were going to clean out the garage. We agreed in advance that we would get rid of stuff that we accumulated over time that we really didn’t need.  It’s funny how easily things accumulate and clutter up the space, and thus making it difficult for even one car to fit in a two - car garage. To be honest I wish the garage was the only place that we have to worry about being cluttered, but unfortunately it’s not.

What Shall We Do About Santa?

Well that is a tough question and a controversial one for sure. Christians grapple with this issue each Christmas season. I too, felt the conflict in my own heart in years past and that is my motive for writing this blog. As I share my thoughts on this issue allow me to make this disclaimer, these are simply my thoughts on this issue and I do not speak for anyone else nor do I cast judgment on those who views differ from mine.

This Promise You Can Keep!

Perhaps you’ve heard it your whole life:

  • Go to church.
  • Read the Bible.
  • Say your prayers.

These are all good things. But Jesus didn’t come to give us a to-do list. Jesus came so we could experience a full and meaningful life. The Bible which is God’s Word is packed full of promises. These promises were written for us to read and experience life to it’s fullest.
