Adult
Bible Study - Fall 2008
-Sandra Buchanan-
Our Adult Bible Classes
are intended to challenge you to grow in a loving relationship
with Christ and in community with other believers;
to equip you to share the
gospel of Jesus Christ in a relevant manner; and to engage every believer in
a personally fulfilling ministry that honors God.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
1st
Timothy Bible Study
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 207
-Pastor Mike Hay-
This 13 week study on servanthood is set up so that every lesson stands
alone, for the benefit of our guests. Even though the book of 1 Timothy is
commonly known as a Pastoral epistle, it applies to everyone. This study,
led by Pastor Mike, will help you discover what God wants in everyone who
wants to be His servant.
Men’s
Bible Study
(Adult men of all ages)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 103
-Lynn Crowther-
Designed specifically to help men in their pursuit of a deeper, more abiding
faith in God. This class uses the Life Lessons Curriculum, which focuses on
the development of godly values and growth in biblical knowledge. Join us as
we grow together as men. Silver Threads
(Senior adult women)
10:00 - 10:45 AM, Room 104
-Wynette Smith Emslie-
The Silver Threads class challenges senior adult women,
who are already full of valuable life experiences, to discover new
ones in their service to the
Lord and to pass on to younger generations the legacy of their faith. The Life
Ventures Curriculum seeks to equip, encourage, and minister to those in
their senior years through practical application of biblical truths. It focuses
on
the personal and spiritual needs of senior women by reinforcing Godly values
and Christ-like excellence.
Women’s
Bible Study
(Adult women of all ages)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 106
-Nona King-
This class is for women who want to discover and understand God’s Word
for themselves. The Life Lessons Curriculum is designed to help you be, know,
and do all God desires for you. Each class session provides a God inspired
life-changing Bible study that helps in the development of Godly values and
growth in biblical knowledge and understanding of both the Old and New Testaments.
Encouragement from other women experiencing similar life events is uplifting,
and may lead to development of life-long friendship.
Mixed Nuts
(Mixed adults of all ages)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 105
-Gary Gilbert & Bill Buchanan-
A variety of Bible study guides are used in this class. Currently, we are
studying the New Testament books of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John using a study
guide by Max Lucado. Join us for these in-depth studies of the Gospels.
Archaeology and the Bible
(Mixed adults of all ages)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 110
-Flint Winter-
This class is designed for Christians who want a better understanding of the
people, places, and cultures referenced in the Bible. Using maps, charts, and
Scripture references, students gain insight into the background and context
of many Old and New Testament events. Students also learn ways to discern the
validity, based on Biblical accounts, of current secular archaeological findings.
Sometimes a map or image will be just the small nugget you need to cause a
particular Scripture to open up to you in a whole new way. This valuable information
is intended to enhance your personal Bible study and Christian growth.
Life
of Christ Study – Book 5
(Mixed adults of all ages)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 108
-Leslie Booth-
Book 5 of this six book series covers the last week of the Year of Passion
in the Life of Jesus. Students should have completed books 1 through 4 prior
to this study. Contact Leslie Booth for additional details.
Live Out Loud (LOL)
(Young college-age singles)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 203
-Aimee Wray-
The focus of this class is specifically designed for young singles. Material
with updated content and a conversational tone encourages young singles to have
open dialogues and relate scripture to their real life. This class is for singles
that want to dig deeper so they can have genuine discussions about how the Bible
relates to life outside the church walls.
G-Force
(Mixed young adults)
10:00 – 10:45 AM, Room 209
-Garrett Smith-
G-Force is a venue for young single adults and married couples to learn about
and discuss topics relevant to their walk with Christ. Through Bible study,
questions for discussion, and suggestions for personal ministry, this class
helps young adults relate scripture to real-life issues and discover where
God is calling. G-Force also provides young adults fellowship and planned activities
with other young Christians. Join us and find encouragement as God stretches
and grows you into the godly men and women he intends for you to be.
